English translation

Translation by: J. M. Reynolds

Caius Marcius Dento, flamen (priest) of Augustus, sufete, perpetual flamen (priest) set up at his own expense the statue decreed to him publicly on account of his merits.

Commentary

Line 3, sufes: i.e. before the grant of colonial status by Trajan, see 412. The mannerisms of the lettering would otherwise suggest a rather later date.
