excellent man (of equestrian status), former governor of the province of Tripolitania; the city council of the most splendid city of Lepcis Magna, in accordance
with its own decree and the votes of the people, having in mind the benefits they enjoyed from his presence, set up a statue
to a most worthy patron in the new forum Severianum with a view to their enduring memory.

Petasius! Uomo di straordinaria integrità, di impareggiabile assennatezza e di completa bontà, a Flavius Petasius, uomo perfettissimo,

(Statue of) Petasius. To a man of outstanding integrity and incomparable prudence as well as of every goodness, Flavius Petasius,
of perfectissimus rank, former governor (ex praeside) of the province of Tripolitania. The council (ordo) of the most splendid city of Lepcis Magna, by its own decree and by acclamation of the people, mindful of the merits conferred
upon them by his excellence, set up a statue in the new Severan forum, for the memory of eternity, to a most worthy patron.
