English translation

Translation by: Charlotte Roueché

Dolabella, proconsul of the Romans, Tacfarinas having been defeated, restored ?the city of Oea, peace being preserved . . . and consecrated

The authenticity of this text, copied in the 17th century, was doubted by Cumont (1925); but the discovery of IRT 1021 appears to confirm the reality of this report, although the terminology and the readings remain uncertain.
